Facilities and Services

Surrounding both house is a substantial area of well-maintained garden, young people are actively encouraged to participate in planting bulbs, seeds etc, or to utilize the area for growing vegetables and herbs, relaxation and participation in outside activities.

Penarth Group is committed to reducing it’s carbon footprint and encourage both organic and recycling projects where possible.

Young people will be encouraged to develop the house through gardening, recycling and introducing their own ideas of decoration and design.

Kamina House provides accommodation of either gender within the age range 7 to 17. (When considering a referral we always take into consideration the age range of the young people that are currently residing at either home).

Whilst the homes are not structurally designed to meet the needs of severely disabled young people, Penarth Group would not reject a young person’s placement purely on the grounds of disability if arrangements can be made to meet that young person’s needs.

The homes will provide accommodation to meet the needs of young people who may have suffered emotional, sexual, physical, abuse and neglect and have developed acute behavioural problems as a result.

Placement plans for each child/young person will be focused in achieving outcomes based around Every Child Matters 5 outcomes.
